Tanya Ellen Ortega
Prior to joining Saldo Law, Tanya was an Associate Attorney at SmithAmundsen LLC in Chicago, Illinois. In her time at SmithAmundsen, Tanya was a member of the Retail Litigation, Construction Litigation and Sports Law Practice Groups. She also served on the Electronic Discovery Team and Diversity Task Force, a team of attorneys charged with managing the Firm’s diversity initiatives. She joined SmithAmundsen in 2007 after completing a prestigious judicial clerkship with Supervising Judge Alexander P. White of the Circuit Court of Cook County in Chicago, Illinois.
While attending law school at Valparaiso University School of Law, Tanya represented world amateur and Olympic athletes in mediation and arbitration proceedings as a student attorney with the Valparaiso University School of Law Sports Law Clinic. She was appointed by her professors to serve as a teaching assistant for legal writing and a research assistant for sports law. Before law school, Tanya attended the University of Houston in Houston, Texas and competed as a middle distance runner on the University of Houston Track and Cross Country Athletic Teams.
